Cloud Engineer (GCP)

Brussels € Market Rate Contract

Fully Remote Contractor position.

6 months initially with extension highly likely.

The role:

Architect and implement sophisticated, automated CI/CD pipelines for a variety of application workloads, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery.
Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, primarily with Terraform.
Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Docker, ensuring high availability and performance.
Champion and integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) into the SDLC, including vulnerability scanning, identity and access management (IAM), and network security configurations.

Things that will make you stand out:

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in a Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or DevOps role.
Deep expertise in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, including GKE, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, IAM, and VPC networking.
Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with a strong command of Terraform.
Proven experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Demonstrable experience building and operating robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automation tasks.
Problem solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
