Founding Engineer

I'm working with a well-funded AI startup that's already built and deployed their MVP, and they're now looking to bring on a Founding Engineer to help scale the platform and take things to the next level.

This is a rare opportunity to join early, work closely with seasoned operators and top-tier technical leadership, and have a real say in the future of the product and architecture.

The Role:

• Founding team position with meaningful equity
• Backend-leaning full-stack work (Python, FastAPI, Postgres + React)
• Help scale and refine a live product already in use by customers
• Be involved in technical strategy, customer feedback loops, and product direction
• Present the product in meetings with customers and investors, so strong communication and comfort in external-facing conversations is a must
• Work in-person from NYC HQ (3 days per week)

What They’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally with startup exposure
• Strong backend skills and good React knowledge
• Experience taking projects from 0>1
• Computer Science degree
• Prior experience in banking or fintech is a plus, but not required
• Someone polished, confident, and product-minded, not just a builder, but a partner in shaping the business
