Freelance Senior Data Engineer

We're partnered with a Belgian Consultancy on the lookout for a Freelance Senior Data Engineer who’s not only technically sharp but also confident in front of clients. You’ll play a key role in translating business needs into data-driven solutions and guiding stakeholders through the journey.

What you'll do:

• Lead the design and development of modern data pipelines using Databricks and the Azure stack
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients — from requirements gathering to delivery
• Present solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ensure best practices in data architecture, governance, and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive real business impact

You bring:

• Proven experience in client-facing roles within consultancy or delivery teams
• Strong expertise in Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake) and Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL)
• Solid Python skills for ETL and transformation tasks
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts in a clear, confident, and solution-oriented way
• Bonus: CI/CD for data workflows, Power BI understanding, or experience in regulated industries
