Head of Information Security

Our client is a leading international force in the consumer technology and retail sector. They unite top online retailers, distribution centers, and premium product brands under one dynamic, international footprint. They serve customers worldwide with high-performance systems and bespoke tech products, supported by a vast network of e-commerce platforms and distribution operations.

The Opportunity We are looking for a central owner to build a world-class information security function from the ground up. Starting as a standalone role, you will be responsible for defining and aligning security governance across all the group's entities. You will combine security strategy, compliance, training, and technology risk evaluation to build practical guardrails that protect customers and data without slowing down business growth across a dynamic e-commerce, retail, and brand ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Governance: Develop groupwide policies, maintain a central risk register, and establish a lightweight ISMS aligned with ISO 27001 and GDPR principles.
• Cross-Entity Leadership: Build and coordinate a network of local Information Security Owners across all entities, hosting monthly meetings to align on risks, incidents, and compliance.
• Tech & Vendor Management: Enforce governance for Microsoft 365 and Teams (including guest access and identity management), evaluate SaaS tools for security risks, and set practical AI usage guidelines.
• Awareness & Training: Create and launch an ongoing, role-based security training curriculum to continuously improve organizational awareness.
• Compliance: Support GDPR alignment, prepare for ISO 27001 readiness, and ensure structured incident reporting.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience in Information Security, Governance, or GRC.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security and a strong understanding of both ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Proven background in evaluating SaaS tools and assessing third-party vendor risk.
• A strong, business-oriented communicator with the ability to build structures from scratch and drive adoption across an organization.
