Java Software Engineer

This is a Dutch speaking position. We are looking for a professional proficiency (B2+) of Dutch, due to occasional communication with customers.

Salary: Up to €95,000 dependent on your experience

Location: Utrecht or Amsterdam

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work on innovative projects for a variety of clients, from fast-growing startups to large enterprises. You'll help design and build modern software solutions while exploring how AI can enhance engineering practices without compromising quality.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin within the JVM ecosystem
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent commercial experience
• A passion for writing clean, maintainable, high-quality code
• Curiosity around AI-assisted software development and a willingness to experiment with new approaches

Experience in some of the following would be beneficial:

• Spring Boot, Quarkus or similar JVM frameworks
• CI/CD, DevOps practices, automated testing and deployments
• Cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
• Docker and Kubernetes
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Event-driven architectures (Kafka, Redis, messaging platforms)
• Front-end technologies including React, Angular or Vue
• Public speaking, mentoring, training or community involvement
