Founding Head of Engineering

My client are an early stage but well backed fintech who are building the private capital industry’s first intelligent infrastructure for deal origination. They are transforming how investors and advisors operate in a multi-trillion dollar market and this is a unique chance to join them at ground floor level. It will be the first engineering hire, so initially you need to be ready to roll your sleeves up and play a huge role in building the code base out.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build and scale full stack features across backend and frontend systems
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions as the product rapidly evolves
• Work closely with founders and senior engineers to shape technical direction
• Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance and reliability
• Take ownership of projects from idea through to production
• Collaborate with users to understand needs and translate into product impact

Ideal Candidate

• Strong software engineering experience with modern web technologies (Python, JavaScript or similar)
• Knowledge of frameworks such as FastAPI, React or comparable stacks
• Solid understanding of databases and cloud infrastructure
• Comfort working in a fast moving startup environment where priorities can shift
• A proactive mindset with bias for action and ownership
• Genuine interest in building category-defining technology
